Jay Samel is a percussionist, guitarist, piainist, and singer songwriter. Jason is most known for being the creator of "Occupy This Album", founder of the Non-Profit production organization Music For Occupy, Producer of "Buy This Fracking Album", and Owner of Movement Music Records.  
He joined together with Producer and Keyboardist Pete Levin of Moon Palace Recordings NYC to produce his track "Activist" for Buy This Fracking Album along with world reknowned DJ Logic, Dave Berg (Guitar), Matt Moadel (Drums), Chris Crosby (Bass), Elaine Caswell and Neal Coomer of Cindy Lauper singing Backup
Samel has lived all of his years on Long Island, and has had a passion for making music ever since he can remember. Samel grew up in a household filled with an appreciation for music, instilled by his mother, and then later his sister. His influences are reggae, folk, jam bands such as Phish, Govnt Mule, DMB, Grateful Dead, Matisyahu, Allman Brothers, jazz artist John Coltrane, Funk artists The Meters and so many more.
Samel began recording his own music in 2010, and since his music has grown to what it is today, of which you can always clearly hear all of his influences. Samel has performed on radio shows on WUSB 90.1 FM, and 90.7 WBAI, and many others. He has performed at Brooklyn Bowl, Arlene's Grocery, The Bowery Electric,  Long Island's historic Phunky Phish, as well as performed at “Acoustic Long Island” the nations #1 Acoustic Podcast on iTunes. Jay also was a co-producer of Seeger Fest, producer of David Amram's 84th Birthday Concert: Remembering Pete Seeger, creator and executive producer of Occupy This Album, producer of the Hurricane Sandy Hip Hop Relief concert at Brooklyn Bowl, as well as many other shows and mini documentaries which can all be found at 
Samel has been working very hard on producing his first album for nearly 5 years, in between spending time with his four year old son Micah and tending to his business JayMar Insurance Agency. Jason forthcoming release will include guest appearances from DJ Logic, Phil Grande of Joe Cockers band, Pete Levin of Blind Boys Of Alabama, Jeff Mattson of Dark Star Orchestra, The Jam Scenes premiere vocalist Alecia Chakour, Reggae artist Machan Taylor along with Cindy Laupers back up vocalists Elaine Caswell and Neil Coomer.
